The Flomatic 4301P 6P 1" plastic strainer is a compact insert screen designed to convert a compatible threaded check valve into a foot valve by threading directly into the valve inlet. Constructed from durable non-metallic materials with a molded slotted screen, the 6P strainer helps keep larger debris out of the pump suction line and valve internals. It is rated for a maximum operating temperature of 180°F (82°C) and is well suited for residential, light commercial, and irrigation water systems.
Specifications:
Max Temperature: 180°F (82°C)
Body: Non-metallic molded plastic
Screen: Polyethylene insert with slotted openings
Open Area: Approximately 42%
Function: Converts a threaded check valve into a foot valve by adding a suction strainer
Connection: 1" NPT threaded insert (screws into valve inlet)
Case Quantity: 25
Weight: 0.1 lbs
Operation: The 6P plastic strainer threads into the inlet of a compatible check valve used at the end of a suction line. As water enters the valve, the slotted plastic screen helps intercept larger debris before it can enter the valve or pump. This helps maintain more consistent flow into the suction line and reduces the risk of clogging or premature wear on the check valve and pumping equipment.
Construction: The one-piece molded plastic body provides a lightweight, corrosion-resistant construction suitable for most cold and warm water applications. The integrated polyethylene screen and slotted pattern offer a balance between open area and debris protection. Simple NPT threading allows the strainer to be installed or replaced with basic hand tools when the line is depressurized.
Flomatic Engineering: Flomatic valves and accessories are known for reliable performance, consistent manufacturing quality, and long-service life in water and pumping systems. Their designs emphasize durability, ease of installation, and dependable operation across a wide range of applications.
Applications: Typical uses include residential and light commercial well systems, irrigation and landscape watering, cistern and tank drawdown, and other suction line installations where a simple, economical strainer is needed to convert a check valve into a basic foot-valve assembly. This accessory is a strainer only and relies on the check valve body for system pressure rating; consult the valve documentation for pressure limitations.
