We live in what most consider a "throw-away society" where people prefer buying lower cost products repeatedly as opposed to higher quality repairable products. It is enticing to buy lower quality pumps and motors from websites such as Amazon and eBay or the gigantic hardware stores like Home Depot and Lowes. Unfortunately, the longevity of the product and repairability leaves a lot to be desired in most cases. This scenario plays out daily in our Miami repair shop. When the pump is imported from overseas the standards are lower and the parts are incompatible. The seals in most cases are an odd metric size or the motor is built into the seal plate rendering repairs impossible. At Dade Pump we have not fully adapted to the throw-away society frame of mind.
To reduce the difficulty in finding part numbers and pricing we have added exploded view parts breakdowns to the product page for the most commonly purchased components. You can easily identify the parts you may need for your repair and compare the cost of repair vs replace quickly and easily. If you have a pump in need of minor repair it is almost always more cost effective to repair it instead of going the "throw-away" route. Depending on the manufacturer and product there are repair kits including the most commonly replaced wear parts. This is not available for all products and will be listed on the bottom of the parts list in most cases.
