The Flomatic 2386F 8" 245 - 45° Flo-Flex® foot valve is a heavy-duty flapper-style foot valve designed for vertical installation in suction lines where dependable pump priming and backflow protection are required. This model features an epoxy-coated ductile iron body and cover, a Buna-N coated flapper disc, stainless steel fasteners, and an all 316 stainless steel strainer. It is rated for a maximum working pressure of 250 psi and a maximum temperature of 140°F (60°C).

Specifications:

Max Pressure: 250 psi

Max Temperature: 140°F (60°C)

Body: Epoxy-coated ductile iron

Cover: Epoxy-coated ductile iron

Disc: Buna-N coated flapper

Strainer: All 316 stainless steel

Fasteners: Stainless steel

Connection: 8" 150# ANSI B16.1 flanged

Operation: The 245 Flo-Flex flapper-style foot valve is installed at the end of a vertical suction pipe to help maintain pump prime and reduce reverse flow when the pump stops. The elastomer-coated flapper disc opens under forward flow with minimal head loss and closes quickly as flow reverses, helping to protect the pump and suction piping from backflow and potential hydraulic shock.

Construction: An epoxy-coated ductile iron body and cover provide strength and durability for demanding water and wastewater service. The Buna-N coated flapper disc offers a resilient seating surface, while stainless-steel fasteners and an all 316 stainless steel strainer deliver excellent resistance to corrosion. The drilled and tapped cover and bottom port with NPT plugs support venting, draining, or optional accessory connections as required by the installation.

Applications: Municipal, industrial, and commercial pumping systems using vertical suction lines, including water and wastewater lift stations, raw water intakes, and general utility pumping where a robust flanged foot valve is needed to help maintain prime and protect against backflow.
