Flomatic 540000100A 54-A FLO-E-CENTRIC® 8" Plug Valve

The Flomatic 540000100A 54-A FLO-E-CENTRIC® 8" plug valve is a quarter-turn, eccentric, resilient seated plug valve supplied with a 120VAC electric actuator for open/close service and a manual handwheel override. Designed in compliance with ANSI/AWWA C517, the eccentric plug lifts away from the seat during rotation to reduce friction and wear while maintaining dependable shutoff in wastewater and solids-handling applications.

Operation: The eccentric plug offsets from the shaft centerline, allowing the plug to rotate and lift off the seat early in the stroke. This reduces seat rubbing, helps lower operating torque, and supports long service life in abrasive or solids-laden service. The included 120VAC actuator provides powered open/close control, and the manual handwheel override allows operation during maintenance or loss of power.

Installation: Installation must be performed by qualified, licensed personnel. Confirm flange/thread compatibility, gasket selection, and even bolt torque. Provide adequate line support so external loads are not transferred into the valve body. After installation, cycle the valve to confirm full travel and smooth operation. Construction: Built on a fusion bonded epoxy coated ductile-iron body with a welded nickel seat for corrosion and abrasion resistance. The Buna-N coated spherical plug and V-Type packing support reliable sealing, while the self-lubricating Type 316 stainless-steel thrust bearing with PTFE washers promotes smooth, repeatable operation. Stainless-steel hardware is used throughout for durability.
